Abstract

1320576 Testing watches PORTESCAP 14 Aug 1970 [27 Aug 1969] 39205/70 Heading G3T [Also in Division H4] A vibration detector for monitoring watch movements includes an elongate cylindrical Piezoelectric element operable by longitudinal compression. The stem of a watch movement 1(Fig.2) is pressed against the Piezo-electric element 2 by a compression spring 3. An integrated circuit pre-amplifier 6 is close to the element 2 and matches the output to line. The electrodes of the element are metal end caps 15, 16 Fig.5. A metal contact piece 10 for engaging the stem of the watch movement 1 is mounted in a frame 11 between two rubber rings 13, 14. In an alternative arrangement Fig.3, (not shown) the stem of the watch movement engages the compression spring (3) and the other side engages one end of a lever (7), the other end of which maintains the piezo-electric element (2) in compression.
