Abstract

1,219,389. Sample evaporating chamber for gas chromatography. SPETSIALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO AKADEMI NAUK ESTONSKOI SSR. 28 Feb., 1969, No. 10703/69. Heading B1L. A liquid sample to be analysed by gas chromatography is injected through rubber septum 5 and along channel 4 which opens tangentially into cylindrical evaporating chamber 3 filled with packing 2. Carrier gas enters preheater column 8 through pipe 10 and passes up through packing 9 and out along conduit 12, past non-return valve 11 into channel 4 where it entrains the sample before entering chamber 3. The entrained and evaporated sample leaves chamber 3 through tube 6. The entire casing assembly 1 is heated by means of heater 13.
