Abstract
1219130 Electronic counters SIEMENS A G 27 Feb 1968 [28 Feb 1967] 9521/68 Headings G4D D6Y D6C1 D6C2 and D1D9G Forward and backward counting pulse trains are fed to buffer counters from which the most significant digits are periodically extracted and fed to a summing counter. Movement of a machine tool 1 produces signals in quadrature so as to produce forward or backward counting pulses on leads V, R, respectively. These pulses are controlled by high-speed timing pulses from a circuit 10 to pass through preliminary stores 5, 6 to respective binary cascade counters 7, 8. Periodically, the three stages of the counters 7, 8 are compared by logic circuits Fig. 2 (not shown) at times t 1 , t 2 , t 3 at which times the corresponding digits of a magneto-strictive circulating store 12 are passing sequentially through an adder-subtractor on lead a. The logic circuits are such that only the most significant digit is extracted from each counter 7, 8 to feed the adder-subtractor 11 over leads b, c, respectively. Control circuit 9 energizes gates 13 to inhibit feed from stores 5, 6 to counters 7, 8 during read-out.
