Abstract

1,218,428. Tractor wheel attachments. COLCHESTER TILLAGE Ltd. 27 June, 1969 [12 July, 1968], No. 33369/68. Heading B7C. [Also in Division E2] A cage-wheel is secured to a tractor driving wheel by a toggle fastener comprising screw 13 with hook 14 engaging an eye 10 fixed to the wheel securing bolts 12, the other end threadedly engaging a cylindrical nut 16 pivoted in lever 15, itself pivoted by nuts and bolts 19 to bracket 17 welded to hub 3 of the cage-wheel, and the lever being slotted to allow the screw to pass therethrough as required in adjusting the length between nut 16 and eye 10 to suit a particular assembly. The lever is movable about its pivot between the clamping position shown in full lines and the release position shown in broken lines. The cage-wheel comprises rings 1, 2 spaced by tread bar 5 and supported from hub 3 by spokes 4. Members 6 protrude from one side to engage recess 7 in the tractor wheel and driving torque is transmitted by bracket 8a engaging one of the members. In a modification, the eye is on screw 13 and the hook is fixed to the wheel.
