Abstract

1,217,704. Collapsible doors and shutters. MORRIS SINGER & HASKINS Ltd. 21 Feb., 1969 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 9004/68. Heading E1J. In a folding door or shutter of the kind comprising vertical pickets mounted for horizontally traversing the window opening and having folding door leaves and bars of a lattice extending between the pickets and being pivotally and/or slidably connected thereto the pickets are of profile section having a vertically extending channel 13, 14 on each of two of the opposed side edges, adjacent side edges of the leaves 26-31 being pivotally connected in the channels 14 and means such as rollers 17 secured on the intersection of lattice bars being engaged in the channels 13 on the pickets so as to permit pivotal and/or sliding movement within the channels 13. As shown the pickets are formed from two complementary parts mirror images of each other secured together by rivets 15. The leading edge of the door comprises a vertically extending box section 36 secured to the end picket 39. At the other end of the door, the end post comprises section 4 of which the centre portion is bent to form a flange 41 and an arm 42 for securing to the side frame 2 of the door opening.
