Abstract

1,217,575. Swing frame. HEINZ KETTLER [trading as HEINZ KETTLER METALLWARENFABRIK]. 15 March, 1969 [21 March, 1967; 15 June, 1967], No. 12597/68. Heading A6M. A collapsible swing frame includes a crosssupport 1 connected at each end to respective pairs of tubular uprights 48, 58 (only 48 shown) by swing brackets, each swing bracket is formed with two flanges, to the first of which 44 the cross-support is pivoted and to the second of which 46 the end of each upright is pivoted. The first flange is in a plane at right angles to, and projecting to one side of, the second flange. Bracing struts 10 are provided linking the uprights and cross-support, there being a pivotal connection between the struts and uprights, and the struts being pivoted at their other end to a sliding member 2 which is lockable by catch 6 to the crossbar. Preferably the sliding member 2 is of plastics material, with a metal sleeve 3 having ends 3a, 3b bent at right angles to form a bracket to which the struts are pivoted. A roofsupport 57 may be provided. The bracing struts are preferably connected to the tubular uprights by internal expanding clamp members inserted through a slot in the tube and expanded to grip the tube walls.
