Abstract

1,215,860. Polyester resin compositions. SOC. ITALIANA RESINE S.p.A. 6 Dec., 1968, [16 Dec., 1967], No. 58201/68. Heading C3P. A liquid polyester resin composition which is stable during storage and hardenable through addition of peroxides, contains (i) a liquid polyester resin comprising monomeric styrene and a polycondensation product obtained from a polycarboxylic acid or its anhydride and a polyhydric alcohol, non-aromatic unsaturaton being present in the condensation product, (iii) a hardening accelerator consisting of dimethyl. aniline in a proportion from 0À1 to 0À6% by weight with respect to the liquid polyester resin, and (iii), a stabilizer consisting of a nitrophenol in a proportion from 0À01 to 0À5% by weight, or a copper salt in a proportion from 0À0005 to 0À025% by weight with respect to the liquid polyester resin. In the Examples the compositions comprise polyesters prepared from propylene glycol, pentacrythritol, phthalic anhydride, fumaric acid and maleic anhydride; hydroquinone and p-tert-butylcatediol; styrene; picnic acid and copper naphthenate; dimethylaniline and benzoyl peroxide.
