Abstract

1,214,984. Food mass dispenser. B. E. RASMUSSON. 2 Dec., 1967 No. 2852/69. Divided out of 1,214,983. Heading B5A. A dispenser for charging measured quantities of a plastic food mass to a series of moulds M comprises a carriage 34, Figs. 3, 7 including at least one elongate cavity, a tubular nozzle 66 extending therefrom, a hopper 22 secured to the carriage and a piston 74 entering the cavity from the end opposite the nozzle to move through the cavity e.g. by means of piston 80 and dispense material from the nozzle, the carriage assembly with the nozzle, hopper and piston thereon being movable along the longitudinal axis of the cavity e.g. by fluid motor 50 by means of rollers 46 in flanges 42. As shown, the cavities are formed in a plate 36 forming the base of hopper 22 and are closed by means of reciprocable perforated plate 98, Fig. 7, operated by piston 92. The pistons may have a needle (204, Figs. 9-11, not shown) to form a cavity in the article formed in the mould M. Suitable fluid pressure control cavities are illustrated in Figs. 8, 13 (not shown).
