1,214,001. Consuming smoke. DAVIES & CO. (ENG.) Ltd. 30 July, 1968 [26 Sept., 1967], No. 43705/67. Heading F4B. A perforated baffle 26 is mounted in the combustion chamber of a furnace or incinerator, below the outlet to the stack 15, so that the smoke is burnt in the upper part of the combustion chamber. The baffle may be of refractory material in heat-resistant steel, and the bores may be of frusto-conical form. The stack has an air jacket 22. The baffle plate is maintained at a temperature of 900-1000‹ C.
