Abstract

1,217,596. Chimneys; incinerators. DAVIES & CO. (ENG.) Ltd. 6 Nov., 1969 [1 Oct., 1968], No. 46466/68. Headings F4B and F4J. An incinerator has an upright flue stack 16 with an outer jacket 18 leaving a space 22 through which air from a blower 40 is passed. The inner flue member 16 ends below the top of the outer jacket 18 to allow the air from the jacket 22 to mingle with the gases. The incinerator has a baffle plate 26 with holes 28 between the main combustion chamber and a secondary combustion chamber, and air is supplied by the fan 40 to both combustion chambers. The air enters the space 22 surrounding the flue 16 in a tangential direction to improve mixing at the top of the stack.
