Abstract

1,213,352. Telescopic jibs. DEMAG BAUMASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 18 Jan., 1968, No. 2840/68. Headings B8B and B8H. A telescopic jib 1-4, Fig. 1, for a crane, is extended by double-acting hydraulic rams 7, 10, 13 which have their piston-rods and cylinders attached to cross-members 5, 8, 11, 14. Hydraulic fluid is supplied to the rams through the piston-rods, which are hollow, fluid passing from the point 6 through the first ram 7 to the point 9 and so on. Thus, no flexible conduits are required. The rams are arranged in staggered relationship. Fig. 3 (not shown), illustrates an hydraulic circuit with a three position slide-valve for extending and retracting the rams. Pressure limiting valves prevent the build up of pressure due to temperature increases.
