Abstract

1,213,256. Dolomitic refractories. BASIC Inc. 1 July, 1969, No. 33110/69. Heading ClJ. Dolomitic refractories are obtained by mixing dead-burned grains of dolomite or a dolomite magnesia mixture with a carbonaceous binder capable of pyrolytic decomposition and sulphur, shaping and tempering. 0.01-2% of sulphur is specified and tempering is at 250-1000‹ F. Carbon black, graphite or hard pitch are optional. Pitch, coal tar and asphalt are the binders mentioned. Carbon bonded refractories result on further heating.
