Abstract
1284188 Carbonaceous refractories AKECHI TAIKARENGA KK 5 Nov 1970 [6 Aug 1970] 52634/70 Heading C1J A fired porous carbonaceous refractory material is impregnated with molten coal tar pitch, heated to carbonize at least part of the pitch, a glaze applied to the surface of the material and the glaze fired. A preferred refractory material contains graphite, SiC, FeSi, borosilicate, coal tar and coal tar pitch, though optionals are clay, chamotte, pagodite, sillimanite and mullite.
