Abstract

1441095 Refractories STEETLEY (MFG) Ltd 10 Dec 1973 [8 Dec 1972] 56770/72 Heading C1J A refractory is obtained by mixing at 75- 150‹ C. a refractory grain, a cokeable carbonaceous substance, an epoxy resin and an aromatic amine hardener and shaping at 50-120‹ C. The grain can be MgO, CaO, dolomite (all dead burnt) or their mixtures, whilst ZrSiO 4 acid ZrO 2 can also be included. Tar and pitch are the carbonaceous material into which carbon can be incorporated. The amine hardener may be diamino diphenyl methane or m-phenylenediamine.
