Abstract

1,213,086. Refrigerators. STIFER S.p.A. 13 March, 1969 [13 March, 1968], No. 13238/69. Heading F4H. A thermally insulated cabinet, e.g. a refrigerator cabinet, comprises an outer casing formed by a plurality of plates 4-8 and connecting bars 14-17, an inner liner 1 with a downturned lower front edge 11 and foamed plastics insulation between and bonding the casing and liner, the bottom plate 4 of the casing being made of plastics and formed with grooves and/or projections for engaging and supporting the vertical plates and bars and the edge 11 of the liner. Thus, grooves 36 receive the side-plates 5, 6, groove 37 receives the rear plate 7, groove 32 receives edge 11 and corner projections 38, 39, 40 engage in recesses in the appropriately sectioned vertical bars 14. Groove 32 is formed by a rigid outer web 33 and a plurality of spaced resilient tongues 32. The base-plate is formed with angled projections 43 for anchoring the plate to the insulation.
