Abstract
1,213,021. Mechanical switches. FLAGGRAND Ltd. 14 Jan., 1969 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 8799/68. Heading H1N. In a switch of the kind where successive pulls on a cord (not shown) attached to the end 81 of a strip 80 result in stepwise rotation of a contact disc in one direction only, the disc is of insulating material and carries printed-circuit type discrete areas of conducting metal. As shown, two discs 90 and 91 carrying printed-circuit contact areas (92 to 97, Figs. 2 to 7, not shown) are urged outwardly by spring washers therebetween so as to engage respective fixed contacts such as 22, 24 and 55, 57 carried on insulating plates 16 and 50 and connected by printed circuitry to terminal bushes such as 32, 33. Further fixed contacts (28, 31, Fig. 3, not shown) on plate 16 and (60, 63, Fig. 2, not shown) on plate 50 with respective terminal bushes (34 to 37) are also provided. The arrangement of contact areas on the discs 90 and 91, which are stepped 90 degrees by each actuation, is such that the two conjointly-operated double-pole switches formed by disc 90 with plate 16 and disc 91 with plate 50 are respectively rendered off/off, on/off, on/on and off/on by successive pulls. A neon lamp 14, housed in a boss 13, is connected to indicate the condition of one of the switches.
