Capsules, applying; corking; stoppering. -In bottle corking, capping, stoppering, and like machines in which bottles are carried round in rotating carriers, a rotatable member is provided for touching or having wiping contact w i t h the bottles to restore their equilibrium as they are delivered from the machine on to a fixed table &c. A star-shaped member j is mounted on the rotating spindle a of the machine with its arms k between adjacent carriers b. As each bottle encounters the guide or deflector e and is removed from the carrier on to the table f, the adjacent finger k touches the bottle, preferably at the shoulder, and prevents it from falling over. The member j may be made in halves bolted together and may be adjustable on the screwed part g of the spindle a.
