Abstract

313,679. Dehn, F. B., (White Cap Co.). April 2, 1928. Rotary conveyers.- Relates to apparatus for feeding jars, tumblers, cans, &c. from one machine to another, such as from a filling machine to a capping or vacuum-applying and sealing machine and from the latter to a labelling machine. As shown, the apparatus feeds receptacles P from a conveyer band 45 to vacuum-applying and sealing devices mounted on a table 10 and thence back to the band 45 for forwarding to a sterilizing or labelling machine. The devices on the table 10 may be of the form - described in Specification 317,380, [Class 125 (ii). Bottles &c., Filling &c.]. The receptacles, on arriving at the point S, are placed manually in contact with positioning fingers 27 on arms 21 mounted for endwise movement on a rotary table 19 arranged-substantially tangentially to the band 45 and to the table 10, the adjacent space being filled by a fixed table 30. During the rotation of the table 19 in a clockwise direction, a fixed cam 26 acts on downward extensions of the arms 21 and causes a receptacle to be moved to position V on the table 10. The peripheral speed of the table 10 is greater than that of the table 19, and the movement of the arm 21 brings the speed of the receptacle up to that of the table 10.
