Abstract

513,400. Bottling. CREAMERY PACKAGE MANUFACTURING CO. March 9, 1939, No. 7660. Convention date, March 12, 1938. [Class 125 (ii)] In a rotary machine, each bottle pedestal has a horizontal bottle-supporting surface 25 and an arm 26 spaced above said surface, the surface and arm passing respectively below and above a table 4 from which the arm sweeps a bottle on to the said surface. An attendant places an empty bottle on the table at A, whence an intermittently-rotating spider 3 sweeps it to the edge C of the table where it is engaged by the arm 26. The filling table 2 rotates continuously ; filled bottles are deflected therefrom by a stationary guide 21 on to the table 4, which at this point is level with the surface 25, capped at E and pushed out to F by the spider 3. Rotation of the spider 3 is effected by projections 27, one on each bottle pedestal, which strike a starwheel 28 geared to the spider 3. The invention is described as applied to a machine having a rotating liquid reservoir the spring-closed filling nozzles of which are opened by bottles pushed up by pedestals riding on a cam.
