Abstract

1,212,678. Oil burner fuel supply systems. DAVEY, PAXMAN & CO. Ltd. 21 Nov., 1967 [2 Dec., 1966], No. 54007/66. Heading F4T. The fuel oil supply system for a burner 13 of the spill-jet type comprises a pump 1 supplying oil to the burner and a spill line 17 having in it non-return valves 19 which open at a pressure greater than is required to keep them open so as to ensure a pressure in the spill line at start-up higher than when the burner is operating normally, this giving an increased fuel/air ratio. Between the pump and the burner there are a thermostat 5, non-return valve 6, heater 7, thermometer 9, pressure gauge 10 and pressure control valve 11. A surplus fuel line 14 extends between valve 11 and the suction side of the pump. In the spill line 17 there is a pressure gauge 20 and a spill valve 18.
