Abstract
1,210,834. Spray carburetters; throttle valves. B. WALKER. Sept.13, 1968, No.43612/68. Addition to 1,132, 939. Heading F1B. The throttle valve 4, Fig. 8 which closes completely, is provided with an orifice 21 through which idling air flows to impinge on the idling fuel jet 19 emerging from the idling fuel orifice 17. The orifice 17 opens into a member 25a into which the orifice 21 opens when the throttle valve is closed. The member 25a may be secured to a ring 26, to a flanged member filtering between the carburetter and manifold flanges, or to the valve 4. In Fig. 15 a mixing passage 36 for the fuel and air from orifices 17, 21, is formed in a block carried by a flange 28. The flow of idling mixture in passage 36 may be restricted by an adjustable pin 42. The size of orifice 21 may be adjusted by an angularly adjusted plate on the upstream side of the throttle valve. A second air orifice (21a) Fig.7 (not shown) may be provided on the other side of the throttle valve and a guide member 25a, Fig. 10, may be secured on the downstream side of the throttle valve.
