Abstract

1,210,657. Drop handles. TURNER INDUSTRIES Ltd. 26 Sept., 1968 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 48289/67. Heading A4U. [Also in Divisions E1-2] In a drop handle, pintles 4 of a pull member 2 are retained in rearwardly open recesses 3 in projections 5 on a back plate 1, prior to attachment of the handle to an article of furniture, by tongues 8 formed by cutting pointed grooves 9 in the walls of the recesses to form tapered fins which are bent inwards behind the pintles. The back plate may be provided with rearwardly extending, internally screw-threaded bosses to receive fixing screws applied from the back of a door and the pull member may have projections which abut the back plate when the pull member is in normal hanging position.
