1,210,305. Planing craft. ANDREW DEAN MARINE Ltd. 1 Aug., 1969 [2 Aug., 1968], No. 37094/68. Heading B7A. A planing craft moulded hull has three continuously connected bow portions 8, 9, 10 of which the outer portions for two-thirds of the length abaft the stem become wider and shallower until they merge with the side surfaces of the centre portion. Part 15 of the moulding between each bow portion has a flat downwardly inclined undersurface converging in width towards the stern and for the after onethird of the boat length the centre portion has a flat undersurface which is stepped down from the rest of the hull. Air driven in between the portions of the hull above the waterline at the stern spreads out each side of the after part of the centre portion 9 to cause the stern to plane with little wake.
