Abstract

1,210,285. Refuse containers. G. F. DUBOIS. 9 Jan., 1968 [13 Jan., 1967; 3 Aug., 1967], No. 1237/68. Heading A4A. A refuse container comprises a body 1 closed at the top by a hood 4 attached to the body by a joint 2, a container 7 of a height exceeding that of body 1 attached to the top rim of 1 flanges 5 and 6 and provided with a bag 8 of plastics material which exceeds in length the container 7 so as to provide a portion 9 folded back around the top rim of container 7. Parts 10-17 comprise members for the treadle actuation of a lid 18 hinged at 19 to the hood 4, above the container 7. The portion 24 provides storage for a stock of bags which comprises a sheath 25 of plastics material provided at regular intervals with transverse strips along which the material of the sheath is welded together, the distance between the strips being equal to the length of a bag 8. The free end of the sheath 25, which forms an endless belt around the shafts 30, passes through an opening 36 in the lid 35 and is held on the lid by two sprung curved blades 37, the lid being provided with a blade 42 for cutting off the bags.
