Axial-flow type; working-fluid supply.-A series of combustion chambers e are arranged tangentially about a set of vane-wheels a and provided with inlet valves e<3> for the explosive mixture and outlet valves f controlling the tangential nozzles d<1>, the sliding rods j, i associated with each pair of valves being actuated by a cam h carried by one of a set of gear-wheels c<2>, c<3> driven from a central wheel c<1> on the turbine shaft c. Each chamber may have an additional outlet connected to an exhaust pump to withdraw residual gases. The chambers may be arranged helically about a long axial casing. The casing may be the rotating member, the vane-wheel being fixed. The vanes of adjacent vane-wheels a are set in the same direction.
