Fixed-abutment type; cooling parts. - In an internal-combustion turbine a rotary compressor having hinged vanes i co-operating with fixed abutments n draws in the gas mixture through the hollow shaft d and the rotor passage c and compresses it through ports s and suitably operated valves r into combustion chambers p arranged with their longitudinal axes oblique to the plane of the turbine wheel t<1> so as to discharge the exploded gases on to the turbine blades t<4> after the solid rim positions t<5>, which alternate with the sets of blades t<4>, have covered the outlets of the combustion chambers. Before discharging into the exhaust chamber y, the gases may pass through further sets of fixed and moving blades as shown. The compressor conduits e may be shaped as fan blades to circulate cooling air, or water-cooling may be used, with or without water jackets.
