Abstract

1,209,035. Vinyl chloride-propylene copolymer compositions. DUNLOP SEMTEX Ltd. 24 April, 1968 [27 April, 1967], No. 19363/67. Heading C3P. A composition for floor tiles comprises a filler and resinous binder in which the binder is a copolymer of vinyl chloride and propylene containing not more than 50% mol. of propylene and the filler forms 50-95% by wt. of the composition. Preferably the filler is non- fibrous. In the examples are used whiting, titanium dioxide (rutile or anatase) and limestone, the whiting may be stearate-coated. Plasticizers used are dialphanyl phthalate (" Alphanol " is a Registered Trade Mark) and butyl benzyl phthalate and other additives used are maleic-modified rosin, PVC, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethyl cellulose ABS resin, chlorinated polyethylene and butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer.
