Abstract
1,208,285. Combine harvesters. MASSEY-FERGUSON (AUSTRALIA) Ltd. 3 Nov., 1967 [15 Nov., 1966; 25 Aug., 1967], Nos. 50062/67 and 39140/67. Heading A1F. The table 37 of a combine harvester is detachably connected by hooks 42 and overcentre locks 43 to a frame 17 which is supported from the body 16 of the combine by a parallel linkage comprising upper links 26 and lower links which are in the form of an elevator casing 10. The links 26 have adjustable extension arms 28 to set the attitude of the conventional fingers 37A and cutter blade 38. In an embodiment the fingers form a comb to engage under the heads of the crop which is then cut by the blade. The table is raised by hydraulic jacks 32 pivoted to the body 16 at 35 and to the links 26 at 34. The elevator comprises a chain and slat conveyer 15 entrained around sprockets 12 and rollers 13, 14 carried on the ends of arms 13a, 14a pivoted to a shaft 10a longitudinally moved by screw adjuster 10b. A screw adjuster 16a and spring arrangement 16b adjust the angle between the arms 13a, 14a.
