Abstract

120,712. Froger, L. V. W. Nov. 10, 1917, [Convention date]. Anchors.-A cylindrical, conical, or octahedral recessed block 1, star-shaped in cross-section, is attached to a ship by an endless chain. The chain passes through a snivel 23 on the shank 16, which is secured in a plug 3 in the centre of the block. Holes 5 in the plug allow air to escape from the recess 4 in the bottom of the plug. Hinged flaps 10 at the bottom of the recesses between the flukes turn upwards when the anchor is on the sea bottom.
