Abstract

1,206,507. Valves. STIGA-VERKEN A.B. 29 May, 1968 [29 May, 1967], No. 25750/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] In a double-acting fluid pump, having two chambers 9, 10, the two chambers communicate with the interior of a hollow piston-rod 6 via passages 11 in the piston head. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the piston head 2 is smaller in diameter than the cylinder 1 and has a groove 12 containing a sealing ring 13 which is moved up or down to connect the chambers alternately to the interior of the piston-rod. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the sealing ring is replaced by a valve (23) in the shape of a ring with a U-shaped cross-section, the sides of which may be deflected by pressure in either chamber. If the pressure in the piston exceeds that in the chamber, the valve will seal off both chambers. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, a thimble-shaped valve 22 is provided made of rubber with the walls thinner at the open end so that they can be pushed inwards by fluid pressure. The valve has a button at the top by which it is supported at the top of a hollow piston 6.
