Abstract
1,205,535. Microphones. AKUSTISCHE U. KINO-GERATE G.m.b.H. 17 March, 1969 [19 March, 1968], No. 13813/69. Heading H4J. An elongate microphone formed at one end with a sound inlet opening 7 has a cable lead 10 (Fig. 2) extending rearwardly from a pocket clip 9 of the microphone housing 1. The pocket clip 9 is permanently or detachably secured to the main housing 1. A housing part 2 defines a switch chamber and a pocket clip 9 which also acts as a cable bushing. Ribs 15 assist in holding the microphone in the pocket. The housing part 2 is connected to the main housing 1 by a plug-andsocket connection, a locking screw 14 being provided. Alternatively (not shown) the housing part 2 is moulded around the cable 10, the switch 8 and the relevant part of the plug- and-socket connection. In another arrangement (not shown) the housing part 2 is provided with a clamp which is push-fitted to embrace a stepped-down cylindrical portion of the main housing. Another arrangement (Fig. 1, not shown) has the housing part 2 integral with the main housing 1. A detachable cover-plate (4) on the clip permits assembly and maintenance of the switch 8 and cable. The cable emerges rearwardly through a bushing at the clip end. A prismatic microphone housing (Fig. 4, not shown) has ribs 16 on the sides of the housing part 2 to provide a finger grip where the main housing 1 and housing part 2 are connected by a plug-and-socket arrangement. The microphone may be held in the hand, connected to a stand by the clip or carried by a cord worn around the neck and passing between the main housing and the clip.
