Abstract

1,205,338. Scaffolding. BLISS-LAUGHLIN INDUSTRIES Inc. [trading as WACO SCAFFOLD & SHORING CO.], 22 May, 1968 [27 July, 1967], No. 24537/68. Heading E1S. Scaffolding for supporting, e.g. floor shuttering, comprises parallel sections 10 each including a "main" frame 14 and an "extension" frame 16 which can be adjusted vertically with respect to the "main" frame, and is rigidly fixed thereto by means of brackets 52 having parallel side plates which locate the vertical frame members in position, and holes 20 through which pins 32 are inserted into holes in the vertical members. The brackets have cross-plates 56 (Fig. 5, e.g., not shown) which lie between the vertical members when in position and which may not extend to the top and bottom of the brackets so that they can be swivelled into a horizontal position on top of a main frame when only attached thereto. Coupling means 20 are provided on the vertical members to facilitate the connection of cross-braces 12, each means including a curved member 70 (Fig. 9, not shown) fixed to provide a slot between itself and the vertical member, and a slotted pin 64 extending therefrom, a J-shaped latch 75 being positioned with its legs through the slot and socket to prevent the withdrawal of the apertured end of the cross-braces from the pin 64.
