Abstract

1,204,783. Lamp standards. K. F. GUGGEMOS. 26 Jan., 1968 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3631/68. Heading E1B. A base for a lighting standard 32 comprises a housing (11) embedded in concrete by bolts 13 and having lugs 23 adjustably secured to one side wall 22 by bolts 24, and a pivot pin 30 passing through lugs 24 and a projection 26 on a support plate 27 which has a cylindrical opening 31 in which the lower end of the standard 32 is welded. The plate 27 is supported at its side opposite the pivot by adjustable screws 35 in a pair of bosses 34, and is held in engagement therewith by a further screw 38. A gasket 45 and a cover plate 42 having a gasket 43 are slid down the standard after it has been erected to seal the housing. In a second embodiment the cover plate 42 and gaskets 43 and 45 are omitted and the base of the housing has an upstanding cylindrical portion around the cable entry and a sealing gasket thereon engages the lower end of cylinder 31 to seal the cables from moisture.
