Abstract

1,204,304. Horizontally pivoted windows. S. W. BENGTSSON. 11 March, 1969 [11 April, 1968], No. 12730/69. Heading E2F. A bearing device for horizontally pivoted windows comprises a first bearing element A secured to the frame and having two bearing cups 14, 15 and a second bearing element B secured to the window and having two bearing pins 39, 40, the construction being such that in closed position the window is carried only by pin 39, upon opening to a predetermined ventilating position is carried by both pins, and on further opening is carried by pin 40 only. The invention resides in the provision of a first blocking member 26 movable into bearing cup 15 to prevent pins 40 being moved into the cup and a second blocking member 41 secured to element B and adapted to permit movement of pin 39 out of cup 14 only when pin 40 is seated in cup 15. As shown, 26 is a pin axially movable by a handle 34 into cup 15 and is spring biassed into the cup. Blocking member 41 is a projection on element B and extends into a recess 19 in braking runner 18 which slides in arcuate channel 17 whose centre of curvature is the centre of cup 14. When pin 40 is seated in cup 15; Fig. 10, element 41 is aligned with an arcuate slot 23 having its centre of curvature common with that cup and, on pivoting about pin 40, element 41 moves freely along this slot. In the blocked position, Fig. 9, element 41 is not so aligned and abuts the side of channel 17. By rotating the window through about 90‹ pin 39 is removed completely from channel 12 and the window may be removed from the frame. To assist in replacing the window, pin 40 may be bevelled at its end whereby the pin 26 is automatically displaced against its spring when pin 40 is inserted into cup 15.
