924,104. Hinges and pivots. EVERS & CO. A.B. May 15, 1961 [May 19, 1960], No. 17578/61. Class 65 (2). A hinge device for an obliquely inclined horizontally pivoted window comprising a member 8 adapted to be attached to the window sash and having a single bearing pivot 9 mounted in a bearing cup 5 adapted to be attached to the window frame, the radial section of the cup being confined on the outside and inside by such arcs of circles that the pivot is movable radially into and out of the cup, is characterized in that the arc-shaped edge of the cup facing towards the member has a recess 6 and the member has a guide stud 12 on the convex side of the cup arranged so that the pivot can only be removed from the cup when the window has been opened sufficiently to bring the stud opposite to the recess. A stopbar 13 slidable on the frame has an end portion 14 which projects through an aperture 16 in the bearing cup at a point beyond the end 9<SP>1</SP> of the pivot (see Fig. 5) and co-operates with a stud 17 projecting from the pin. A screw or pin 21 engaging a U-shaped slot 18-20 in the bar enables the latter to be located in either of two positions, according to which arm of the U the pin engages, so that it stops the pivot at the angular position for disengagement or, alternatively, stops the pivot before this position is reached. The bar may be locked in either position by tightening the pin 21, or by other means.
