Abstract

985,662. Door holders; push pull catches. MOORSIDE MACHINING CO. Ltd. March 29, 1961 [July 26, 1960], No. 25893/60. Heading E2A. A device for holding a door or the like releasably in its open position comprises a stationary member 1 and a relatively movable member 10, the member 1 housing a wire spring 7 having a straight central portion and legs which are convoluted at a distance from their free extremities, and the member 10 having a beak 12 formed with a slot 13 adapted to engage the central portion of the spring. The beak and the slot have inclined faces so that the members may be engaged and disengaged by applying a suitable force to the door. The spring may be mounted on a spindle 7A on the member 1, or the legs may be bent to grip projections 6 on the member.
