Abstract

1,204,055. Soft drink composition. STOKELY-VAN CAMP Inc. Jan 17, 1969, [Sept. 11, 1969], No.2774/69. Heading C6E. A composition (syrup, powder or tablets) to be mixed with water to form a beverage, includes 10- 80 grams/litre of glucose and 15-50 milliequivalents/litre of sodium ions. Such composition may include also at least 1À5 milliequivalents/litre of potassium ions, at least 4À0 milliequivalents/litre of phosphate ions, and flavouring, colouring and artificial sweetening agents. The beverage may be carbonated by addition of 2À0-3À5 volumes (S. T. P.) of carbon dioxide. The sodium ions may be provided by one or more of the following salts phosphate (mono-, di- and trisodium salts), citrate, carbonate, bicarbonate and chloride (also sodium saccharin). Detailed formulations are disclosed.
