Abstract

1,269,620. Fluoride-containing compositions. WARNER-LAMBERT CO. 20 Oct., 1970 [20 Oct., 1969], No. 49807/70. Heading A5B. An anti-caries composition comprises a fluoride capable of producing a F<SP>-</SP>ion concentration of from 10 to 250 ppm. (by weight) in aqueous media and a solid, CO 2 -producing couple, e.g. of sodium and/or potassium carbonate and/or bicarbonate and a non-toxic organic acid such as citric, tartaric, fumaric or malic acid. A phosphate (e.g. Na 3 PO 4 ), sweeteners, colours and flavours may also be present and the composition may be in the form of a compressed tablet.
