Abstract

1391318 Denture cleanser MILES LABORATORIES Inc 2 Nov 1972 [11 Nov 1971] 50658/72 Heading C5D A substantially dry effervescent denture cleanser composition comprises (A) a mixture of ingredients which in the presence of water liberates CO 2 to produce effervescence, (B) a surfactant preferably an anionic surfactant, (C) a water softener, (D) oxygen bleach and (E) a mixture, of proteolytic and amylolytic enzymes of bacterial origin having a proteolytic activity of at least 325,000 MDU/gm. and an amylolytic activity of at least 700,000 MWU/gm. Compounds (A) are mixtures of inorganic or organic acids (or their anhydrides) in solid form with alkali metal or alkaline earth metal carbonates or bicarbonates. Compounds (B) may be sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium N-lauroylsarcosinate, sodium lauryl sulphoacetate or diactyl sodium sulphosuccinate. Compounds (C) may be sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium acid pyrophosphate, tetra-sodium pyrophosphate and salts of ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid. Compounds (D) may be sodium perborate or sodium percarbonate.
