Abstract

1,203,485. Valves. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 23 April, 1969 [4 June, 1968], No. 26483/68. Heading F2V. Relief valve comprises a valve member having a plunger part 17 slidable in the narrower bore section 11 of a stepped bore 11, 12. A reduced neck 22 joins the part 17 to a head 18 in the larger diameter section 12 of the bore. The head 18 co-operates with a seat at the junction of the two bore sections. An inlet 14 intersects the smaller section 11 in the region of the neck whilst an outlet 15 leads from the larger section 12. A closed end of the smaller section is connected with the inlet through a restricted passage 23, 24 which may as shown be in the valve member or in the body 10. The valve is spring-loaded. As shown, the spring acts through a ball 27 on a flat surface of the head 18 so that adjustment through a screwed abutment 25 is made easy.
