Abstract

1,202,877. Mixing liquids in proportions. EXPANDITE Ltd. 4 Dec., 1968 [4 Dec., 1967], No. 54995/67. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F1] In apparatus for delivering at least two viscous liquids in predetermined proportions comprising at least two reciprocating pumps 1, 2 preferably double acting bucket pumps in which the piston rods 5 connect through a cross-member 6 to a pneumatic ram 14, at least all but one of the pistons have a lost motion coupling whereby the strokes of the pistons may be varied. As shown a rod 8 attached to piston rod 5 has a screw thread 9 with adjusting nuts 11, 12 and passes through a hole 10 in member 6. Screwing up or unscrewing nuts 11, 12 alters the distance 17 between abutment 13 and member 6. The liquids are fed via outlets 4 to a motor driven mixer 31 (Fig. 4 not shown), and the strokes of the piston may also be adjusted to compensate for different filling rates due to differences in viscosity.
