Abstract

1,202,666. Regulating I. C. engines. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. March 28, 1969 [March 29, 1968], No.16368/69. Heading F1B. [Also in Division G1] In an I.C. engine fuel injection system in which a monostable multivibrator is triggered in dependence upon the engine speed and the duration of opening pulses from the multivibrator is dependent upon the pressure in the intake manifold 12, a pressure sensor 41 connected downstream of the butterfly valve 50 is connected momentarily to atmospheric pressure when the butterfly valve is opened to provide an increased injection period during acceleration. As shown, the pressure box 41 is connected to the manifold via a chamber 58 and to atmosphere via orifice 61 which is normally closed by a valve disc 62. Opening of the butterfly valve causes valve disc 62 to lift off its seat, the disc returning to its seat only when the pressure in the chamber 72 of pressure box 68 and chamber 58 are substantially equal.
