Bulkheads.-Relates to ships' bulkheads of the kind wherein a plurality of plates form a series of flat-sided angles alternately salient in opposite directions. Where the plates are all of the same width, they may be welded together edge to edge, as shown in Fig. 1, or, as shown in Fig. 2, alternate plates may be flanged for connexion by welding or riveting. Alternate plates may be of double width and knuckled or bent at their centres. In another arrangement, all the plates are knuckled or bent at their centres, and their edges are connected directly by welding or by angle-bars which may be welded or riveted. The bulkhead is connected to the surrounding structure by welding or by riveted, welded, or otherwise attached anglebars, as shown in Fig. 2.
