Planking; keelsons; punts.-Punts are formed of clinker-built sides connected to a carvel or clinker-built bottom by means of side keelsons. The overlapping edges a of the adjacent boards are connected by copper rivets, and the lowermost boards are connected to keelsons b, which are provided with rabbets b<1>, b<2> to receive the sides and bottom of the boat. Metal plates are fitted on the inside of the punt to take the wear caused by the punter's shoes.
