Abstract

1,201,905. 905. Photographic silver halide materials. KODAK Ltd. Jan.25, 1968 [Jan.27, 1967], No.4075/67. Heading G2C. Photographic light-sensitive silver halide materials for rapid processing comprise a support carrying at least one silver halide emulsion layer and containing in an emulsion layer or a layer adjacent thereto a silver halide developing agent, and bearing a surface layer containing 0-50% by weight of gelatin and 50-100% by weight of silica having an average particle size smaller than 1 micron. The developing agent may be hydroquinone, a p-aminophenol or 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone. The surface layer containing silica acts as an antiabrasion layer and prevents the rapidprocessed material feeling sticky to the touch.
