Abstract

1,201,327. Washing textiles webs. ARTOS DR.-ING. MEIER-WINDHORST K.G. 7 Dec., 1967, No. 55785/67. Heading DIP. Liquid is removed from a textile web wetted in a washing process which includes successive washing sections and in which the web in the final washing section is heated to the boiling temperature of the liquid or as close thereto as is practicable without decomposition of the liquid, by squeezing the web while maintaining this temperature as nearly as possible and then subjecting it to an evaporation process. Squeezing may be effected by means of a mediumperformance or high-performance squeezing mechanism. Evaporation may be aided by blowing air having a minimum relative humidity upon the web. Cooling may also be aided by passing the web over cooled drums. The cooling air may be heated to about 60‹C by means of a heat exchanger heated by the waste water from the washing machine.
