<PICT:0779149/IV(b)/1> Textile material is pressed over rollers in a steaming chamber 40, Fig. 1, and the heat from the chemical reaction of treatment is absorbed or counterbalanced by hollow metal rollers 70a to 70e which have water circulating through them so that some of the steam is condensed. Various other forms of condensing rollers are shown and described.
