Abstract

1,201,068. Power presses. L. SCHULER G.m.b.H. 22 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 43354/67. Heading B3H. A line of presses 1 are each driven through planetary gearing 12 which is controlled so as to keep the presses in synchronism. Workpiece feed mechanism 2 is provided between the presses. Each press ram is driven by a crankshaft 13 through a clutch 25 and planetary gear mechanism 12. The main input shaft 14 of this mechanism is connected to a flywheel 18 driven by a motor (15), Fig. 2 (not shown). An auxiliary input shaft 11 is connected to a servomotor 10 controlled by a circuit 8 which receives a signal from a control receiver 6 connected by line 7 to a control transmitter 4 driven by a master control motor 3. Any deviation of a press during its working cycle from the set synchronism causes the servomotor to drive the planetary gear input shaft 11 and restore synchronism. Alternatively the shaft 11 may be driven by a governor controlled by the synchronization control system.
