1305219 Presses L SCHULER GmbH 27 Nov 1970 [27 Nov 1969] 56403/70 Heading B3H [Also in Division B5] In a press having an overhead drive for two or more rams 29, 30, 31 which are arranged in a common frame structure one behind the other in the direction of work flow, each ram has a separate drive, and each of a plurality of workpiece feed bars 50, 51 is driven from its associated ram drive. The ram drives may be operated independently, or two or more may be operable in dependence on one another. Each ram is driven by its motor 33 through a clutch and brake device and through gearing 36 ... 40, 42 ... 45. The feed bars 50, 51 are driven by bevel gears 52 ... 58, and are adapted to grip the workpiece and to reciprocate in the direction of work flow. Wedge arrangements 49 provide adjustment of the tool heights.
