Abstract

1,201,037. Locking nuts. ROTAX Ltd. 22 Dec., 1967 [21 Oct., 1966], No. 47244/66. Heading F2H. A device for locking a nut 10 relative to a threaded shaft 12 comprises an annular washer 14 which is locatable adjacent an end face of the nut for non-rotatable engagement with the shaft, the washer having a portion of its periphery cut away to form a recess 16 and the nut having an annular rib 11 such that after the nut has been tightened a portion of the rib 11 is deformed into the recess 16 to prevent angular movement of the nut. The washer has two projections 15 which engage in recesses 13 in the shaft to prevent relative rotation between the shaft and washer.
